“There is not an acre of ground on the globe that is in possession of its rightful owner, or that has not been taken away from owner after owner, cycle afer cycle, by force and bloodshed.” - Mark Twain, The Lowest Animal
Assignment # 3
Directions:
1. Read the document below (we have already started reading this in class).
2. Use the "comment" button to highlight examples of satirical devices, explain how it is used, and talk about what message Twain is trying to convey by using that device. And/or find new and challenging vocabulary words and define them, then in a few sentneces, write your own satirical device sentence using that word (could be paradox, understatement, sarcasm, etc.)
Note: Each student must contribute in the document at least twice. Also, I do not want to see repeats. In otherwords, if someone already found a satirical device being used in the first sentence of the first paragraph, that one is already taken. So, please find other one so we can all contribute something new.
3. After, please answers the questions below the Google document and reply thoughfully to at least one other classmate.
